Favorite things #22

I love shopping at Sephora for my make up and one of the main reasons is because they always give out free samples! Well, when you shop at an actual store sometimes you need to ask for them but they will always give you some if you ask. And if you shop online, you can always pick 3 samples with each order and sometimes you can get even more depending on what type of promotions they have.

Of course if you are part of their rewards program, Beauty Insider, you can collect points and get nicer samples when you accumulate up to 100 or 500 or more points. Also you get a free gift on your birthday! They have another VIB program too but I don't spend enough money each year there to qualify I think.  But I sure do enjoy those free samples and birthday gifts each year. Although I know it is mainly a marketing ploy but I think it is a great one because who doesn't enjoy getting a little something free when you make a purchase.

Are you a Sephora fan like me? Where do you like to buy your make up?

  1. I like Sephora too but don't actually shop for makeup bc I'm pretty product loyal. I buy mascara at drugstores, foundation with Arbonne dealer. The blush and eye makeup takes forever to use and powder I get from Bare Escentuals. If I want to try something, I prefer Ulta bc I feel like their stores and samples are less touched. The Sephora at KOP scares me! So many ppl. So many germs ;)

    1. I never try the samples that they have out in the stores (gross germs) but they always give out small perfumes and samples of other products that you can try (in clean new packages) at home which I love. Being brand loyal is good though! I pretty stick to the few brands that I like too, only thing I change up brand wise is perfume.

  2. I try to stay away from products that have chemicals in them. I just bought an au natural foundation from Alex + Von. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm super excited to see how it works. I love free samples too!

    1. Good for you! Make up is one of the things I have not done the research on to go chemical free, maybe in the new year. Do you have any recommendations?

    2. I'm going to try the Alex + Von tonight. I'll let you know how it is. For facial cleansers, toners and creams, I recommend Shaklee. I love them so much that I became an independent distributor. :)
