Picture Day

H's picture day was yesterday. Hoping for a nice shot. I got spoiled last year for H's Pre-K shot. We got proofs, different poses and backgrounds to choose from. So if they didn't turn out nice you could just decline. But you all know that you get what you get when it comes to school pictures, good or bad. However they do have a photo touch-up option (extra money, of course) so if you have the dreaded zit or blemishes it will miraculously disappear...."picture perfect".

I remember we would all get a small plastic black comb as we lined up for our pictures back in elementary school. Did you get those? I always thought it'd be nice to have a mirror nearby to do a quick hair check, since usually the photographer wouldn't care. (at least the ones I had) I also remember how they would pose and tilt your head in the oddest angle then tell you to say some silly word... then FLASH be blinded by those lights, oh the memories haha!
Here's a picture of me from Kindergarten. Don't ask what I was wearing, yikes haha! I think I was absent on picture day, so this was a retake.

What are your picture day memories?
What's your worst picture day photo or were they all keepers?

SAY CHEESE!!!!

  1. Yup, we got the black combs too. I don't ever remember liking any of my photos except my senior pictures. But if you look in my step dad's wallet, he has every photo of every year. :)

  2. Hope you got a good shot for H! I know school ones can be hit or miss. But either way, you just have to buy because it's certainly something she'll want to see in the future :). I remember black combs! Totally need a mirror! I think all of my photos were awkward but then again, they're supposed to be. Makes the now me look so much better in comparison ;).

  4. Hah picture days were the worst! The backgrounds were always so ugly and I always had a goofy smile on my face. Plus there was that one year where my mom made me perm my hair... don't even get me started! :)

  5. One of these days, school photographs will be distributed in digital form, so we parents can edit the photos to our heart's delight! =)

    1. Awwww, yes we can now look back at those pictures and laugh. It's pretty cool when you have them all together and see how much you changed through the years :)

  7. Oh boy...I shudder to even look back at old school photos. Haha. It's funny, I never really thought too much about them. They were just part of the school year. But, I kind of wish I cared a little more haha. Man, I remember looking pretty dorky. But, I am dorky so it all works out. =D

  8. AWww you were so cute!!!! I just want to squeeze your little self cheeks. I always looked so bad in my pictures in gradeschool. I never really cared how I looked, so my hair was always a mess, haha. I will make sure this does not happen to Grace :)
