Favorite Things #13

Kids are so tech savvy, whether it's playing games on the iPad, Nabi or Leap pads. But it's always nice to get back to the basics, like a classic game of UNO. This is H's favorite game to play. We play many many rounds in one sitting. Even N joins and has a pretty good grasp of the game. Of course they love it when they beat mommy and win!

What's your favorite board game to play? Do you have family game nights?

  1. My sister and I used to play this alllll the time! When we were kids (look at me talking like I'm an old lady), we only got to play video games during summer vacation. And we didn't have other technology until I was a senior in high school -- our first computer! with dial-up! *Sigh* what awesome times. Non-technology games that J likes to play are drawing, coloring (though I do the bulk of the drawing & coloring) and cars, etc. We haven't played structured games with him but Nilsa at SomiSpeaks recommended 2 more age-appropriate games for her son, Gavin, who is also 3.

    1. Ah yes back in the day hehe. When they are young they don't have the attention for a structured games, but that's ok there's plenty of other things to keep them busy :) Oh I have to check out what Nilsa recommended.

  2. I LOVED Uno growing up. I love to play board and card games. Baby C hasn't really gotten into the board games yet. She can't sit still long enough. But I can't wait until she does.

    1. Monopoly was one of my favorites growing up. They actually have a preschool game version of Uno, called Uno Moo. I heard it was lots of fun. Baby C will be wanting to play Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders in a year or two. ; )

  3. No official game nights here, but whenever the grandparents come over, they have two board games that they like to play with them over and over. I remember playing Uno!
