Since we have plenty of color sand I thought it be fun to do this craft with H while N napped. But of course when she asked to do this I didn't have one of those sand art bottles so I had to think fast. Usually I would have a water bottle in the recycling bin but of course it was recycling day. Why is it when you need something it's never there? So some of you out there (especially mothers) will probably recognize the container I ended up using. Hey it's a great way to upcycle right?
WHAT YOU NEED:
Color Sand
Bottle or jar
Tray or pan
Bamboo skewer or toothpick
Place bottle on tray. Pour sand to create colorful layers. Fill to the very top.
Poke skewer down the sides to create designs
Have you ever made a sand art bottle? What have you upcycled?

haha yay, brings back memories? :) Thanks Yi-Chia!
DeleteYep, we made it before at a fall festival! I acually don't know that container and curious to find out. It looks like a formula bottle. You know, the ones they give you at the hospital...
ReplyDeleteClose, it's the Medela breastmilk storage bottle.
DeleteYour art projects always take me back to being a kid. I have done so many of these. Great idea to reuse your storage bottle.
ReplyDeleteI definitely enjoy sharing fun things I did as a kid with H&N. Hope they will do the same :) Thanks Mandi!
Deletebeautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! :)
DeleteOhh I remember doing something similar! I was done with my sand art (those with pictures) and had excess left. Got myself a few small bottles and my sister and I tilt the bottles in varying angles as we poured the sand in. Oh, how fun it was! Love the unpredictable outcomes of sand patterns! :)
ReplyDeleteYes Clarissa, it's great to create all different patterns and colors with the sand. Glad you had fun with it! :)
DeleteCuuuuuute! And Lol that prolly only mommies recognize those bottles. I'm surprised you still have them lying around the house!!!
ReplyDeleteHAHA I was waiting for that comment Lisa! :P
DeleteIt's been quite awhile since I needed them, haha! There were a few on my top shelf, so out of sight out of mind... until this craft.
