* My husband, John and I, back in 2006 when we were still dating.
While trying to come up with an idea for Throwback Thursday this time, I decided to just write about a picture that I really like. This picture was taken back in April of 2006 when my husband I were still dating. In fact, we had only been dating for about 5 months at this point. And it is one of our favorite pictures of us.
It was taken at one of his good friend's wedding and he was a groomsman. This was the first time I would be meeting many of his friends from NYC and I was a bit nervous. I wanted to make a good impression and hoped that everyone would like me.
I remember telling John we needed to go shopping so I could pick up a new outfit to wear to the wedding. And he was so sweet and bought me an entirely new outfit, from my dress, to my jacket, purse, and shoes!
Though I was nervous in the beginning, all of his friends were great and made me feel really comfortable and welcomed that day. I ended up having a great day meeting his friends and celebrating the wedding day of his good friend.
What are some of the things you have done to make a good impression?

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. So sweet that he bought you an entirely new outfit, head to toe!! It must have been a bit nerve wracking because you had to meet all of his friends all at once!! I want to hear about the first time he met all of your friends, and what did he wear ;)? I don't really remember the exact 1st time I met Alan's parents, but I do remember being really nervous and quiet for the first 6 mos while we were dating and whenever we were around them. Luckily, Alan helped me to chill out and I started to feel more natural around them, and I think that's when they started to accept me as part of their family :). Happy ending! Congrats to the two of you! Match-made.
ReplyDeleteHaha...I know he was pretty nervous meeting my friends but don't know if he was as worried about his outfit as I was =)
DeleteReally great picture, but the real question is how come you guys look exactly the same after 6-7 years and 4 babies!
ReplyDeleteYou are too kind Sana! Don't know if we really do look the same after so many years, waistlines have definitely changed =) and more dark circles under our eyes from the lack of sleep! You still look the same after so many years that I've known you!
DeleteI love this picture! It's so sweet that he bought you a whole outfit. When I want to make a good impression, I try to dress nice. It makes me feel more confident.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thanks for linking up to throwback Thursday, Zi!
DeleteI totally agree that the type of clothes you wear can change your attitude and confidence! We are always happy to be able to link up to Throwback Thursday, I love the opportunity to be able to go through some old pictures =).

ReplyDeleteHow sweet! One time, I came home to find my apartment filled with post-it notes all over with sweet little messages on them. I think that was back when we were still dating.

DeleteLove that he bought the outfit and that you obvilously made an impression :)
