Favorite thing #18

One of the great things of being a parent is taking advantage of kids eat free deals! We don't usually take the kids to eat out too often because it is hard to keep 3 kids sitting through a meal at a restaurant. But the one place we do take them out to eat is Ikea!

They have a great kid sitting area that is semi-contained, making it easy to keep track of the kids and has things that can keep their attraction so us parents can actually sit and eat our meal in a bit of peace.

Also their kids meals are rather large in size and our kids don't always finish everything, so we can usually just get 1 adult meal and help finish their meals. Making it an inexpensive meal out, which we love!

Talking of love and Ikea, have you tried their Swedish meatballs? SO good!

  1. We usually go out to eat on Friday or Saturday night. I've never been aware of a free kids deal on those nights, but once in a while, a waitress with kids of her own, will give her meal for free. I love when that happens. We recently bought some new furniture from Ikea. They have some cool stuff, but I don't like shopping and crowds, so we go on a week night.

    1. Ikea's kids eat free deals are on Tuesdays. But sometimes they will have it on weekends. So if we happen to need to pick something up from there, we will go and take advantage of the deal!

  2. We haven't been to places where kids eat free because we don't usually make it there in time ;). Usually, either we order a kids meal + 1 small "fit" adult meal and mom + son share. Or, we just order a regular adult meal and mom + son share. We definitely eat at kid friendly places. We've recently liked eating at IHOP (that's where I order the fit omelet and munch on his carbs) or Corner Bakery. Speaking of large kids' meals, we went to a Korean restaurant where the kids meal was like $12 and seriously gigantic. I don't know why they even bother calling it a kid's meal. There wasn't even a toy ;).

    1. I love Corner Bakery, used to go there pretty often when I was still working. Never tried going there with the kids though. $12 kids meal? That's crazy!

    2. Their kids meals aren't anything to write home about. I don't think they're cheap either. We used to go after church, but then our waistlines and wallets were changing shape, in the wrong way ;)
