Fall decor

Before kids I would change the décor around the house each season now I only decorate for the holidays. I know stores have their Christmas decorations already but really let's enjoy fall first. Don't you agree?  Is it me or do they have it out earlier each year?

I found these cool gel stick-ons for the kids to decorate our storm door and windows.

H&N had so much peeling them off and sticking them on our storm door and windows. The downside is that it can tear apart. I think the kids thought it was like one of those stretchy toys. They were only a dollar so I can’t complain. They also can stick onto your clothing if you happen to lean against it. One morning my husband was getting into work and noticed a sticky leaf on his shoe. He had no idea it was from our front door. He thought it was something gross and sticky so he quickly threw it away. I asked him, “Didn’t you notice the decorations on the door?” I had to laugh, my husband is not one to notice details like that.
End result a cheap and fun decoration the kids can help with. Best place for it is probably a window where it’s less likely to fall off and attach itself onto you. Unless you want to start a fashion trend.

Do you like to decorate your house when the holidays arrive?
Do you have any festive fall decorations ideas to share? I'd love to hear your inspirations.

  1. I agree, let's take it one holiday at a time. The guys in my office started talking about holidays yesterday b/c Starbucks has their red cups out now and they are avid Starbucks drinkers. I yelled at them ;). No talking about Christmas until Thanksgiving is over. That said, I only decorate for Christmas. I have the decorations already. Don't feel like spending on more decorations for other holidays :).

    1. It's sad how Thanksgiving gets lost with the Christmas hype. Hmm did they start playing Christmas music yet?
Hope you have a nice Thanksgiving Lisa :)

  2. Yes, stores start decorating for Christmas earlier and earlier each year. The shopping center by me had Christmas reefs up before Halloween. The only holiday we really decorate for is Christmas. My husband loves to decorate for Christmas. I'm not crafty and I don't know how to decorate well. I wish I could hire an interior designer. :) I love your fall decorations!

    1. We just saw Santa at the mall yesterday! I thought he usually comes later in November? I love Christmas and all that comes with it but it's too early for me.
Thanks MommyMandi I have to give my kids the credit. hehe

    1. These are the coolest things, they remind me of Jello-jigglers. I love how they are so colorful and inexpensive too.
